Science Dept - Julia Olstad

Hello! My name is Julia Olstad, and this is my seventh year teaching science in a high school setting. My career at Fillmore Central began January of 2012. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here thus far, but am even more excited for the days ahead! I grew up in Rushford, MN and graduated from Rushford-Peterson High school in 2003. In December 2007, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse with my Bachelors in Biology, then received my teaching license from the University of Minnesota-Mankato in May 2010. December of 2015 I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching, and I hope to teach my first college-credit class of Anatomy & Physiology this school year. My husband, Levi, and I were married August 2011 and have now lived in Harmony for four years. It feels great to be part of the community! In May of 2014, we had a baby girl, Madeline Elizabeth. She has added so much joy and laughter into our lives! We also have a dog named Bo and a cat named Frank, both of which entertain us daily.
My hobbies include hanging out with Madeline, showing/riding horses, being active outdoors, traveling, cooking/eating good food, and spending time with family & friends.
This year I will be teaching Physical Science, Biology, and Anatomy & Physiology. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
