High School Announcements


Today’s lunch menu is chicken pasta alfredo and garlic toast or breaded chicken sandwich. Steamed peas, vegetable bar, fruit, and milk.

Alacarte items are available only for students who have money in their lunch account.

There will be a late bus today.

7 and 8 football today vs. Kingsland at Spring Valley. Bus will leave Harmony at 3:20 and Preston at 3:40.  Please dismiss players at 3:10.

It's official--the FC Book Club will meet for sure on Wednesday, the 20th in the media center during 3rd Lunch.  Be ready to go first in the lunch line and bring some good comments about The Giver.  Get a pass from Ms. Nielsen from Focus if you need one!

Reminder to those juniors interested in attending the Mayo Clinic Health Care Career Festival on October 3rd, you need to go online to and register ASAP!!! Deadline to have all of your information uploaded and approved is today!!

If any junior has not signed up for the PSAT test that will be given on Oct. 11th and is interested- stop in and see Mrs. Olstad in the guidance office today.  The cost is $16 and checks should be made out to Fillmore Central.

An admissions representative from Upper Iowa Community College will be here Thursday, Sept. 21st at 9:00 in the office for any junior or senior who may be interested in attending. Sign up in the office and get a pass.

Attention reading fans!  Ms. Nielsen has four great Scholastic book orders on the bookshelf under the pencil sharpener in her room.  There are superior selections for younger and older readers!  Grab a form or 2, 3, or 4, peruse the selections, and bring your orders and money in.  Orders will be due in early October.

The next National ACT test date is Oct. 28th, the registration deadline is Sept. 22nd. Register online at Stop by the guidance office if you have any questions or to pick up a study guide.

Attention Seniors - AAA (Academics, Arts & Athletics) applications are due to Mr. Chris Mensink by November 17th.  The purpose of the program is to recognize and honor high school seniors who have excelled in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in the fine arts; to elevate academic standards and create greater awareness of League-sponsored activities and their values; to provide member schools of the League with the opportunity to participate in a statewide program that supports, promotes, and recognizes academic and extra-curricular achievements.  To be eligible for the Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award a student must be a high school senior at the time of nomination. Nominations are limited to two qualifying students per school, one male and one female; have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the date of nomination; participate in League-sponsored athletics and fine arts activities; comply with MSHSL’s Student Code of Conduct.  Application s can be found on our school website under Activities - Extra Curricular Fees and Forms at

Reminder to all juniors-fundraiser packets are due today.

There will be a photography club meeting on Thursday, the 21st, during activity period. Meeting will be in the lunchroom.

There will be a NHS meeting on Tuesday, the 26th, during activity period in the chemistry room.  We will be discussing the blood drive and the ditch pick-up.

The high school band will be having a long rehearsal today, 1st and 2nd lunch, and eat 3rd lunch.  Rehearsal will be at the practice field to learn the rest of the drill.

There is a senior class meeting for all seniors going on the class trip at this time in the lunchroom.
