Biography

I was born in Albert Lea, MN, where almost all my extended family lives.  When I was 5 months old, my family and I moved to Rushford, where I attended elementary and high school.  I attended Winona State University and earned my Bachelors of Science degree in English/Language Arts Education along with an Emphasis in Writing. I earned my Emergency Medical Technician certification and volunteered on the Rushford Ambulance Crew.  After experiencing a very saturated job market in the Midwest, I moved to Parker, AZ, and taught high school English for one year.  Back in Minnesota, I lived two years in the twin cities and worked random temporary jobs and at Camp Snoopy (for fun!).  I moved to Harmony and began teaching high school English in 1996 and have been here ever since.

I live in Harmony and volunteer as an EMT with the Harmony Ambulance (please join us!  We need your help!).  I love hanging out on my deck and porch, taking care of my yard and too many plants, traveling all around the U.S. and Europe, reading, crafting, swimming, biking and walking the bike trail, watching movies and theater shows, and spending time with my family and friends.
